Dimples are Cute...Cellulite not so much!

We are heading into summer and that calls for skirts, shorts and bikinis. Now, let's not be too critical of ourselves, we have had to deal with some world issues that didn't allow us to self care like normal and cellulite was the last of our worries. But it seems as though we may be heading in the right direction and hopefully everyone has been able to stay safe and healthy.

Cellulite is a fatty deposit beneath the skin. The appearance is lumpy, dimpled flesh on the thighs, buttocks, hips, belly and arms. It occurs when the skin lies over the fat deposits and is pulled downward to the deeper tissues by connective tissue bands. This creates the uneven surface (dimpling).

Cellulite may be caused by the following:

Hormones, poor diet, unhealthy lifestyle, accumulated toxins, genetics, weight gain, inactivity and pregnancy.

Now that you know what causes this dimpled look, let’s talk about what treatments that will help minimize the appearance of cellulite and maintain a smooth look…

Wood Therapy is a vigorous Colombian massage technique that utilizes wooden tools to tone, reduce, mold, and eliminate stored fat and toxins. This treatment contours the body to improve the appearance and aids overall health. Wood Therapy is non-invasive and an efficient way of contouring the body without harming the skin or tissue. Not only does it make the skin look silky smooth but also helps relax the mind and body to reduce mental and physical tension.

Sauna Detox has the same effect as a cardio workout and all you have to do is lay inside of an infrared blanket where temperatures get as hot as 85 degrees Fahrenheit! Who wouldn’t love that in these cold temps we are having here in Chicago? While wrapped in our Bijou Body Creams inside the sauna blanket this is what's happening to the body…

Detoxify/Skin Purification, burns calories, reduces inflammation, promotes healing, full body cleanse of toxins, increases blood circulation, boosts the immune system, soothes sore muscles and joints, helps with sleep, boosts collagen and promotes lymphatic drainage. All great things for a healthy body and mind!

Vacuum Therapy is a non-invasive massaging technique that helps lift your skin via a mechanical device equipped with suction cups. A vacuum is created around the area of treatment, lifting the cellulite away from the muscle, thus encouraging blood flow, stimulating lymphatic drainage, improving the tone and texture of the treated area. Again, a simple way to help with cellulite and can also help with keeping the buttocks from falling flat and maintaining a more youthful look!

These treatments can work alone or in combination with one another. The key to maximizing and maintaining your results with any non-invasive and invasive treatments: Drinking water (½ your body weight in ounces) and exercising. I can not stress this enough. You must follow after care instructions to maintain and enhance your results. Understand that these treatments are not cheap but you must also do the work. Most people need multiple treatments (6-10) to obtain maximum results, but we have the ability to keep you looking and feeling your best.
